Boar's Head Festival 201512/7/2014 Hundreds pack Bethesda-by-the-Sea for the annual Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival, performed here since 1977. The traditional English boar's head festival dates back to the 1300's in Queen's College, Oxford. Wild boars menaced villagers in Norman England, and the serving of the boar symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. In the beautiful gothic church, we relive the pageantry and drama of 14th century England.

One would wonder what was going on at the other end of the Gardens Mall.
Then one would hear the volume getting louder as the Pipe Band was getting closer. Then one would see the Pipe Band and feel the music even more. Then one would watch the Band march just outside of the reception area with a louder effect, as if they were going to march by the area. But, NO, All of a sudden the Band turns and actually marches right into the very middle of the reception crowd and they are, now, right in front of you with the fullest volume ever and as if it was your own private Band playing for you. The Band stopped and then started up again and put on a bit of a concert right before your eyes. When the Band was done, they struck up one more time, playing the most famous Scottish tune, Scotland the Brave. Then the Pipes and Drums of the Band proceeded to march out from the reception area and head back to where they started from, continuing to play and slowly fading into the far distance within the Gardens Mall. This was definitely a WOW Factor for all that attended this Party. St. Patrick's Day1/6/2014 St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17, the saint's religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years. On St. Patrick's Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink and feast--on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.
